Quick post:  Windows 7 has been officially been released today, and it brings lots of features.
 
If weren't able to attend the SharePoint Conference 2009 or keep up with twitter, then you might have missed that SharePoint 2010 can be installed on Windows 7.  This approach is obviously recommended for Developers and for production.
